ENERGY STAR® featured at
the National Congress & Expo
This year’s Manufactured Housing Congress in Las Vegas will feature a presentation about
the Manufactured Housing Energy Star program. Energy
Star activity is heating up, with utilities in the Southwest
offering incentives for Energy Star construction. The
seminar is an ideal opportunity to
hear about Energy Star marketing approaches that will help
customers recognize the value of buying an Energy Star home.
Speakers include: Emanuel Levy (Manufactured Housing Research Alliance),
Larry Rackley (Nevada Power Company) and Sam Rashkin (U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency). For any company interested
in energy efficiency and Energy Star, this is a must attend
event.

More than 3,300 ENERGY
STAR
Manufactured Homes Produced in 2006
In 2006, over 3,300 Energy Star qualified manufactured homes
were produced by more than 40 certified plants across the
nation, and the pace of construction continues to increase.
MHRA projects that by the end of 2007, HUD-code manufacturers
will build between 6,000 and 7,000 new Energy Star homes;
homes that will reduce monthly homeownership costs, improve comfort and provide substantial tax benefits
for participating manufacturers. MHRA is working with
state associations, utilities and public agencies on additional
incentives to increase demand for Energy Star homes.
